The Achterhoek is characterised by beautiful nature, numerous castles and their estates. Organisation Geldersch Landschap & Kasteelen proudly cares for many of these castles, some of which include Huize Verwolde, Kasteel Vorden and Kasteel Ruurlo that are open to the public.

Close to Buitengewoon Laren are country estates Verwolde and de VelHorst with the characteristic white drawbridge for lovely walking and cycling, also Natuurmonumentens country estates are great to enjoy with the Kienveen and the Grote Veld.
